The /r/ sound has a reputation as one of the hardest English speech sounds to work on, but there are some ways to make it easier. Here are some:
  1. The English "r" sound is made by  making your tongue high and tight in the back.  The /g/ and /k/ sounds are also made back there, so those sounds are sometimes a good "lead-in" for the /r/. 
  2. Making a big, firm smile can help make an /r/ sound. The tight smile helps keep your tongue tight and stable in the back.
